FutureCIO Malaysia Conference, Kuala Lumpur - 24 June 2026.

I was asked to speak at the 4th FutureCIO Malaysia Conference, organised by CXOCIETY.

Near the end came a question I get in some form at almost every event: if a leader could take only three concrete actions on AI before the end of the year, what should they be? It is daunting to answer that with something clever, and the honest position is that I do not have the answers. What I have is questions, so that is what I shared.

Three questions to ask at every level of an organisation. What decisions are we making, and what actions are we taking, without AI - and what is that costing us in revenue growth, cost optimisation, deepening customer relationships and improving ROI? What oversight do we have that tells us when the AI output is wrong? And a third, on accountability when AI gets something wrong.

The room was chief information officers and technology leaders from across Malaysian industry.
